Grupo SEG, through one of its companies, has completed the engineering works for the comprehensive improvement of the Santiago-Batuco section.
The Santiago-Batuco line consists of 8 stations over a 27-kilometer stretch, with three tracks up to Las Industrias (two for passengers and one for freight) and two tracks up to Batuco (one for passengers and one for freight), with connections to Metro lines 5, 7, and 3.
The section has an estimated demand of approximately 22 million passengers per year, serving an area with around one million inhabitants. The project is expected to involve an investment of 650 million dollars and will generate around 21,000 jobs during its execution.
The scope of the works developed includes:
- The underground intermodal station Matucana, which connects with Line 2 of the Santiago Metro
- The optimization of the railway diversion to KDM
- A pedestrian bridge named “La Máquina”
- The connection of the Quilicura station with the Line 3 Metro station
- A grade-separated crossing at Cacique Colín (including the Colina Stream Road Bridge) and several multipurpose crossings (Cacique Colín, Montecarlo, Central Highway), as well as the eastern sidewalk up to the multipurpose crossing at San Ignacio.
- Temporary diversion of San Ignacio street for the construction of the San Ignacio grade-separated crossing
- Side drains on San Ignacio Street for access to the SILFA company
- Modification of the Quilicura Sur Canal channels in the Alcalde Guzmán sector
- Maintenance Center in Renca
- Garages in Batuco
- Colina Station and its surroundings
- Relocation of the High Voltage Substation (SEAT) to the east of the road strip, in the Alcalde Guzmán sector
- New track configuration for the Quilicura Yard
